WH A T IS D Í A D E LOS MU E R TOS? Día de los Muertos is a Mexican custom celebrating the lives of the deceased with food, drink, music, and activities our loved-ones enjoyed in life. It recognizes death as a natural part of the human experience, beginning with birth, childhood, and growing up to become a contributing member of the community. On Día de los Muertos, the departed are also a part of the community, awakened from their eternal sleep to share celebrations with their loved ones.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Entertainment - We have performers from our dance group Danza Tenochtli, Aztec dancers, local vocaliists, Rock Band Todos Santos to Mariachi throughout the day!
Catriń/Catrina Contest - open to all ages, we have participants join us from all over Chester County to show off their creations.
Activities for all ages - We’ll have face painters, Monarch messages, an Art Corner and workshops with arts and crafts.
Food - Food vendors themed for the event will be available all day for the attendees.

El Día de los Muertos es una costumbre mexicana que celebra la vida de los difuntos con comida, bebida, música y actividades que nuestros seres queridos disfrutaron en vida. Reconoce la muerte como una parte natural de la experiencia humana, comenzando con el nacimiento, la niñez y creciendo hasta convertirse en un miembro contribuyente de la comunidad. En el Día de los Muertos, los difuntos también son parte de la comunidad, despertados de su sueño eterno para compartir celebraciones con sus seres queridos.
QUÉ ESPERAR:
Entretenimiento: ¡tenemos artistas de nuestra tropa de danza Danza Tenochtli, bailarines aztecas, vocalistas locales, la banda de rock Todos Santos y Música de Mariachi durante todo el día!
Concurso Catriń/Catrina: abierto a todas las edades, contamos con participantes de todo el condado de Chester que se unen a nosotros para mostrar sus creaciones.
Actividades para todas las edades - Tendremos pintores de caras, mensajes de la Monarca, un Rincón del arte y talleres con artes y manualidades.
Comida – Vendedores de comida con temática del evento estarán disponibles todo el día para los asistentes.
