Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a time to gather, remember, and celebrate the lives of those who have passed. We invite our community to join us for a special celebration at Spring Lake Cemetery that embraces remembrance through culture, music, art, and community.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience a community ofrenda (altar), enjoy local food and vendors, listen to music, and take part in additional activities throughout the day. More details and participating vendors will be announced as they are confirmed.
Whether you are remembering a loved one, learning more about the traditions of Día de los Muertos, or simply looking for a meaningful community event, all are welcome.
~Community Ofrenda~
One of the highlights of this event will be our community ofrenda.
We invite members of the community to honor loved ones by contributing a framed photograph that will be displayed on the community altar throughout the event.
~How to Participate~
You may participate in one of two ways:
Option 1 – Drop Off a Framed Photograph
Bring a framed photograph of your loved one to the Spring Lake Cemetery office prior to the event. Photographs will be carefully displayed on the community ofrenda and available for pickup following the event.
Option 2 – Submit a Digital Photograph
If you are unable to provide a framed photo, you may send it via email to [email protected]. We will print and display your loved one's photograph as part of the community ofrenda.
~ To help offset printing, setup, and event expenses, a suggested donation of $10 per photograph is appreciated but not required. Every contribution helps support this community event and future educational programming at Spring Lake Cemetery.
