Workshop Breakdown
This is a 90-minute intensive class followed by a 30-minute practica.
📌 Intermediate Level – Not for Beginners
This class is designed for dancers with a foundation in Bachata or prior dance experience. We will be skipping beginner-level content.
90-Minute Intensive
🔹 Segment 1: Warm-Up (10-15 min)
Body isolations and mobility exercises tailored to Sensual Bachata.
Focus on rhythm, fluidity, and connection between body and music.
🔹 Segment 2: Body Movement Fundamentals (10-15 min)
Leaders: Using the torso and core to guide movements with clarity.
Followers: Executing figure-eight hips and developing fluid body motion.
Drills for smooth transitions and balance in body mechanics.
🔹 Segment 3: Leading Principles in Multiple Positions (30 min)
Exploring connections in regular partnership, shadow position, and side-to-side.
Understanding and applying body movement to create flow versus leading specific patterns.
Techniques for clear, intentional leading and responsive following in each position.
🔹 Segment 4: Follower Styling and Expression (20-25 min)
Styling figure-eight hips, arms, and body while maintaining connection.
Expressing individuality without disrupting the lead.
Practical exercises to integrate styling into partnered movements.
30-Minute Practica
Open practice to apply what was learned in a relaxed, supportive environment.
