Remai Modern invites members and the public to celebrate the opening of Dyani White Hawk: Love Language in the Marquee Gallery on Level 3.Dyani White Hawk (Sičáŋǧu Lakota, b. 1976) creates work grounded in connection—between people, across generations, and with the land and sky. By centering Lakota forms and motifs, she challenges dominant narratives of abstraction. Spanning 15 years, Love Language brings together paintings, sculpture, video, and more in a major survey of her practice.
Join us for a first look at the exhibition, enjoy light bites from Hearth Restaurant, and gather in community, with remarks by Dyani White Hawk.
Program
6 PM – Doors open
6:30 PM – Remarks in the Riverview Room (Level 2)
7–9 PM – Reception and exhibition viewing (Level 3)
The opening is free to attend and all are welcome.
Dyani White Hawk: Love Language is co-organized by Remai Modern, Saskatoon and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. Lead support is provided by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
