From a basement in Indiana (where the band recorded their self-titled debut album in 2016 as college students), Durand Jones & The Indications have risen to the spotlight and onto the international stage. Their clever songwriting and contemporary take on the genre caught the attention of Colemine Records. After signing their debut, they quickly achieved international success.
With Durand Jones’s warm vocals, drummer Aaron Frazer’s falsetto, and a band that sounds like a tight soul machine, they create music that feels nostalgic.
With their new album Flowers, The Indications reveal their true colors. They embrace their musical roots and influences, showcase their maturity and confidence, and share it all openly with the world. “We’ve spent the past ten years building this house, and now we finally live in it,” says guitarist Blake Rhein.
The album is mature, sultry, and embraces the softer side of soul and disco.
Think: the golden years of Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, and The Impressions, but with a modern message and a fresh sound.
