Join us for an unforgettable evening of virtuosic chamber music
About this Event

Experience an unforgettable evening of virtuosic chamber music tracing the evolution of the cello and piano performed by Duo Arpeggione. The program opens with Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 3 in A major, Op. 69, a masterclass in balance where both instruments converse as true equals, shifting from profound lyricism to explosive joy. Next, the duo presents Arthur Foote’s Romanza. Written by one of America's finest late-Romantic composers, this intimate, deeply personal piece is renowned for its impassioned melodic beauty and lush, Wagner-esque harmonies. The mood then shifts dramatically with David Popper’s Tarantella, Op. 33. This dazzling, breathless showpiece demands elite technical agility, mimicking the frantic traditional Italian folk dance. The concert concludes with Edvard Grieg’s Cello Sonata in A minor, Op. 36. Steeped in the evocative, folk-inspired traditions of Norway, this sweeping Romantic work mirrors the emotional drama of his famous Piano Concerto. It is a thrilling finale filled with passionate climaxes and brilliant interplay between the cello and piano.

Doors open at 7:00 PM | Concert begins at 7:30 PM
