Dungeons & Dragons Introduction Workshop

Have you been thinking about getting into Dungeons & Dragons, but aren’t sure where to start?

Maybe the books look intimidating. Maybe you’ve heard friends talk about it and wondered what actually happens at the table.

In this 3.5 hour introduction workshop, Brett from Mythic Minds will guide you through creating a character using D&D Beyond, explain the basics of the game, and walk through things like table etiquette, roleplaying, and how a session actually works.

Don’t worry — there are a lot of rules, but memorizing them is not expected. Most groups learn as they play.

Once everyone has a character ready, we’ll jump into a short adventure using a custom map so you can experience how the game flows in real time.

If you’ve been curious about D&D, this is the perfect place to start.

• Laptop (preferred) with an internet browser with a FREE D&D Beyond account created (Phones work, but the browser version is significantly easier to use)

• Pen & Journal (or access to a word processor)

• Snacks (Please avoid heavily scented foods and common allergens.)

• Beverages Bring your own water bottle. Canopy Studios is a licensed venue. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
Government issued ID required for alcohol purchases.

• Comfort Items Blankets, trinkets, or other personal comfort items are welcome. Participants will be encouraged to step outside their normal routines through role-play.

This experience is offered at $30 per participant. Bring a friend and save for $50.

Your ticket helps cover event preparation, venue coordination, and the time required to craft and host the adventure. Each session is prepared in advance and supported with thematic music, ambient lighting, projected maps, and visual storytelling elements designed to make the table feel immersive and memorable.

The goal is to create a welcoming space where both new and experienced players can enjoy a well-run tabletop experience together.

If you particularly enjoyed the adventure, tips are never expected but always appreciated.

Participating in this event involves collaborative storytelling and improvisational role-playing that may include fictional conflict or dramatic themes typical of tabletop games. By attending, participants agree to engage respectfully with fellow players, venue staff, and organizers. The Host and Canopy Studios reserve the right to remove disruptive participants to maintain a welcoming environment.

Photos or video may be taken during events for community and promotional use (such as social media or future event materials). By attending, participants consent to appearing in event media unless they notify the host.

Ticket purchases reserve a seat at the table for that session. Full refunds are available up to 48 hours before the event. Late cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable. If for what ever reason the host cancels or reschedules an event, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future session.
