Leave your phone at the door. For two hours, it's just your hands folding dumplings and whoever ends up at your table.
No-Phone Dumpling Night is a relaxed gathering at Lucky Tortoise in the heart of Temple Bar. It's not a formal cooking class. With guidance from our chef, you'll learn to make four types of Asian dumplings before sitting down to enjoy them together.
Alongside the dumplings, we'll serve kimchi, okonomiyaki, scallion pancakes and a cold Japanese beer. Expect good food, unexpected conversations and a room full of people who are fully present.
What's on the night:
- Welcome drink on arrival.
- Guided dumpling-making with our chef. Four styles, from Korean mandu to Hong Kong siu mai. No experience needed.
- A full sit-down meal with your handmade dumplings and the full spread.
- One mystery prize for a lucky guest.
- Vegetarian and vegan friendly throughout.

More than 3,000 people have gathered around our table since we opened. Birthdays, first dates, small work wins, and plenty of ordinary Tuesdays that quietly turned into something memorable.

Welcome Drink & Phone Check-In
Info: Arrive at Lucky Tortoise, grab a welcome drink, and settle in. Before we begin, everyone places their phone in a basket so we can enjoy two hours of uninterrupted conversation, good food, and genuine connection.
Dumplings Hand-on Moment
Info: With guidance from our chef, you'll learn how to make four different Asian dumpling styles. No cooking experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and enjoy the process alongside new people.
Chat, Laugh & Connect
Info: As you fold dumplings together, conversations happen naturally. Whether you come alone or with friends, this is your chance to meet interesting people without the usual distractions of screens and notifications.
Feast Together
Info: Once the dumplings are ready, everyone gathers around the table to enjoy a shared feast of handmade dumplings, crispy okonomiyaki, Taiwanese scallion pancakes, kimchi, and a cold Japanese beer.
