A very special dip for all the parents who lost a little one and everyone who would like to demonstrate their love and support.
The White Butterfly Foundation, a new non-profit dedicated to providing psychological support for parents who have experienced miscarriage, baby loss, or neonatal death have a client in Galway who sadly lost their little one. To mark his due date on 9th November 2024, they are inviting everyone in every county to take a cold water dip in his memory and to remember all the little ones who didn't stay with us.
Donations voluntary. The dip is free. And even if you are a first timer and just want to dip a toe in, we're here to support and encourage you. All we ask is that everyone wears a white beanie/woolly hat for baby Fionn.
Absolutely everyone welcome! Spare tow floats available for anyone who needs one. Just bring swimwear and footwear for the water, warm clothes to change into and a mug and we'll bring the tea, coffee and treats. Parking, toilets and picnic area on site. A warm welcome and lots of encouragement guaranteed with plenty of advice for first timers!
PLEASE NOTE: Dips N Trips and The Quack Pack are a community of like-minded people who love dipping and swimming in open water. You enter the water at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety at all times. When joining us at a Dip Date or on a Dip Trip you must use a tow-float and bring appropriate clothing to help warm you up afterwards
