This event for ages 3-15 is held in sponsorship with Parks & Rec, TWRA, Wal-Mart, Appalachian Dental, Clarkmore Lending - Holly Clark, and other area organizations. Trophies are awarded in each age division for the largest fish and the most fish caught. Overall event winner for each category will receive a trophy as well. All participants receive a goody bag, free shaved ice, and are eligible to win door prizes including a grand prize. A freeplay games will also be available after weigh-in. Cost is $10 by 3 pm Friday, June 5. $15 day of event. Register or find more details at https://www.parksrec.com/special-events/fishing-derby or in the Parks & Rec Admin office. No fishing license is needed for the older kids on event day. Check-in on event day is from 7 - 8 am at the large tent, and fishing times start at 8 am and go until 10:15 - 11:15 am based on age groups. A games area and free shaved ice is available during weigh-in times while awards are being tallied, and door prizes and awards start around 11:45 am. Space is limited, so register soon! See less
