Dubomedy's Stand-up Comedy 101 Course

DUBOMEDY’S SIGNATURE COMEDY 101 WORKSHOP

Our signature stand-up workshops are open to all levels! From absolute beginners wanting to try their hand at stand-up to more seasoned comics wanting to work on new material or "punch up" existing jokes to get back in the comedy zone. You’ll get to work with professional comedians (as seen on Comedy Central MTV BBC MBC Stand-up Sketch Show & more) with many years of international performance and coaching experience who will help you craft your observations and stories into solid jokes as well as work on timing and delivery simple techniques to help you react in the moment and interact with an audience. Specially designed writing assignments will help you build up a load of funny material and in each session you will test out jokes in a supportive environment. Our personalized feedback will help you polish your material so that by the time of the performance you have solidly written a set of jokes that you can continue to perform regularly.

During the course you will...

- Have 7 coaching sessions a technical rehearsal and a final performance

- Receive specially designed comedy writing assignments

- The coaches have carefully crafted additional video lessons to help students better understand different styles of comedy joke forms and techniques

- Find inspiration for comedy material and see more humor in life

- Simple improv’ techniques to help you react in the moment and interact with an audience

- Performance skills physicality and mic control

- Learn tools to memorize material and help calm nerves

- Receive additional personal feedback and rehearsals as needed to boost confidence

- Perform in front of a live audience in a professionally produced Showcase

Schedule:

6 X Sundays April 28- June 2 from 1:30-4:30 PM

And 1 X Wednesday May 29 from 7:00- 10:00 PM

1 X Final Rehearsal and Evening Showcase: Sunday June 2
