About this Event
Duane Allen is a modern jazz guitarist and composer based in Southern California.
His music is a combination of different eras in the history of jazz, and is intertwined with the current jazz styles of today.
He cites several influences throughout the history of jazz, including: Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Grant Green, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Kurt Rosenwinkle, and countless others.
Duane Allen is also influenced by many other styles of music, such as: classical, blues, rock, funk, folk, experimental, etc. What comes out is a combination of all of these things which gives Allen his individual voice.
When performing live, he can be heard playing jazz standards, originals, pop adaptations, experimental music, and other styles as well.
Joining Duane will be Blake White on bass, and Adam Snow on drums!

Offering everything from straight-ahead and BeBop to Latin, experimental, R&B, electronic and global jazz, as well as spoken word, Birds of a Feather Jazz Lounge often mixes both old-school legends and the next generation of LA’s finest musicians. It’s a spot that aims to capture a classic, unique jazz lounge vibe.
Performances at Birds of a Feather Jazz Lounge happen Tuesdays through Sundays, depending on who has booked, and shows benefit selected charity and non-profit organizations.
Where is parking located?
Parking is located under the building, accessible from west of the building off of 1st St. between Bunker Hill Towers and the mini-shopping center AU LAC is in.
Once you’ve turned into the large driveway, turn left into the garage “Guest Parking and Residence Parking of The Promendade”. $12 CASH ONLY.
Additional parking is located directly across Hope St. at Disney Hall - 111 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. $10.
There is limited street parking in front of Au Lac, Disney Hall and The Music Center.
