✅Dessie F. Evans and Karshner Elementary - Grades K-6

Enrollment for the 2025-26 PSD Dual Language Program opens on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025.
✅ Kindergarten - Open to both English and Spanish-speaking Families.
✅Grades 1-7 - Open to Spanish-speaking families depending on classroom space and the student's Spanish-language proficiency level based on a required interview and evaluation.
More About Dual Language Education
The Puyallup School District is one of a select number of school districts offering dual language education at the elementary school level.
Dual language education is the most effective way for a student to learn another language. At this time, both Karshner Elementary and Dessie Evans Elementary host dual language education.
Spanish Dual Language Education is Designed so that Students Are:
✅Biliterate: Able to speak, read and write at advanced levels in both English and Spanish reflective of their age.
✅Bicultural: Able to be more flexible, process perspectives from multiple viewpoints, and more easily make cross-cultural connections.
✅Academically Oriented: Able to perform at or above same grade level peers in academic subjects as well as standardized assessments.
