This Thursday: ¡AGUANTA! at Dama Gallery, DTLA

We're proud to be on the map with DTLA Art Night, and grateful to the Happening In DTLA organization who bring so much energy and life to the Historic Core of Downtown every month. If you have been wanting to venture out for the first Thursday Art Night but are looking for the art, not the party, this is your space. No promoters. No pop-ups. Just a real established gallery doing what real galleries do; deal in quality art.

Dama Gallery has been in the heart of the Historic Core for seven years as an independently owned, artist-supporting space built for the DTLA collectors, residents, and neighbors who know this neighborhood best.

This Thursday, Leave the party circuit to the promoters and visit a gallery that takes art as serious as you do. A space that respects the exhibiting artists, and provides a genuine conversation about the work being displayed. Gallery coordinator Nicole Rico will be availble throughout the evening for informed and unhurried art conversation; one you can hear without a cover charge. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just beginning to understand what draws you to a piece, Nicole can guide your through the exhibition.

¡AGUANTA! is the group exhibition currently on view. It brings together high-caliber work from artists who've put in the years: bold mark-making, unexpected materials, and compositions that reward a longer look and a deeper conversation. This isn't a promoter's pop-up show, it's the exhibition the artists towards.

Independently owned and rooted in Downtown LA, Dama Gallery was built on the belief that substance and connection outlast spectacle. The owner and curator, Yessíca Torres built this place for the collectors of DTLA who want to know the story behind the work, the artists who make it and invest in artwork worth owning; not just posting.
