Come join us in-person on your lunch break for a DSLBD Small Biz Assist at MLK Lunch & Learn from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM. Get ready to gain valuable insights and tips to build, grow, and sustain your business! Meet with DC government partners, community agencies and entrepreneurs.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your business skills and connect with other business owners. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to session start.

AUGUST 2026

August 12th - DC APEX Accelerator Overview and Capability Statement Training

  • Learn about DC APEX Accelerator, how to prepare for federal, state, and local opportunities, bidding and performance and eligibility requirements.
  • Take a deep dive into Capability Statements, learning key areas and structure, corporate data, past performance vs relevant experience.
  • Meet one-on-one with a DC APEX Counselor to review your Capability Statement from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their Capability Statement.

August 26th - Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking (DISB)

The DC Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB), is a regulatory agency for the District of Columbia's financial services industries and provides programs and resources to assist small business owners. Join us for a DC BizCAP presentation by DISB. The District of Columbia Business Capital Program (DC BizCAP) is funded by the U.S. Treasury State Small Business Credit Initiative (Initiative) and provides critical capital through three programs that provide alternatives to traditional commercial financing to facilitate private lending and investments in District small businesses.
