About Michael Zimmermann
Michael Zimmermann was born in 1968 in Wuppertal, Germany. He completed his training as a Pferdewirt, a certified professional in horse management, in 1989. In 1993 he earned his certification as a Pferdewirtschaftsmeister FN, the highest German equestrian qualification, demonstrating mastery of horse care, training, and instruction.
Michael has extensive experience training both dressage and show jumping horses and riders, from beginners through Grand Prix and international levels. In Germany, he owned and operated a successful riding school where he taught riders of all ages.
He is known for his calm, clear, and effective teaching style. Michael focuses on developing true partnership between horse and rider through understanding, communication, and balance. Riders value his willingness to ride and demonstrate during clinics so they can see and feel the exercises being taught.
His guidance has helped competitors improve performance, refine fundamentals, and rebuild confidence following setbacks. Michael is a respected clinician in both Germany and the United States, and his training philosophy has been featured in numerous equestrian publications and at major exhibitions such as Equitana.
