Join us this February, online or in-person, for our annual Drysdale Lecture, bringing renowned speakers to Nazarene Theological College to engage in critical conversations concerning the intersection of faith, theology, and culture.
This year, we're looking forward to welcoming back Rev. Dr. Trevor Hutton for his lecture, Trinity and Creation: A conversation with Jurgen Moltmann, for church planters and missional ecclesiology.
This lecture aims to place the missional practice of church planting within a broader Trinitarian perspective. In so doing, Rev. Dr Trevor Hutton hopes to strengthen the theological foundations for church and mission, whilst exploring "church" through the lens of creation. He essentially wants to argue that "the church is patterned after the God community" and therefore it should resemble the nature of Godself. Conversing briefly with other dialogue partners, Rev. Dr Hutton will focus primarily on the Trinitarian creation theology of Jürgen Moltmann and hopes to extrapolate from him principles and practices that might prove useful and informative for church planting and the missional engagement of the church in the world.
Trevor is a missional lecturer, trainer, coach and practitioner. He has planted churches in Scotland and England in various contexts. He did his MA in the Christology of Athanasius at NTC, and his PhD in Trinitarian missiology and ecclesiology at Cliff College. He leads the replanting work at Fenton Church of the Nazarene, and as Forge Director for England and Wales, he engages with different denominations and churches, primarily training and coaching pioneers and planters.
