In this class, we will explore a playful approach to drypoint printmaking using Tetra Pak as our printing plates. Tetra Pak is a recyclable material commonly found in broth, pre mixed protein drinks as well as shelf stable products. This material is great for its price point and eco friendly way to create a print. Like other drypoint printing, there is a limited run of prints you can get from each Tetra Pak. This is perfect for beginners as well as seasoned printmakers who want to try something new. Using drypoint needles, students will gently create marks in the foil surface before inking, wiping, and running their plates through the press to create original prints. Each participant will be provided multiple Tetra Pak to create several prints they can take home. Please come with an image or simple design idea already in mind. Tetra Pak sizes may vary depending on the carton you choose — think single-serve protein drinks, broth cartons, and similar packaging.
