This week at the Lake Harriet Bandshell we are hosting Drums of Navarone, an international music group. Drums of Navarone plays funk, blues, jazz, and rock—with a Latin kick. They play funky grooves backed with Latin percussion and fueled propelled by a 3-piece horn section and have a mix of originals and covers redone in our unique style. Their show is a tour of music from New York To San Fransico, New Orleans to Havana, and all the way to Rio. Yet it remains grounded in the sensibilities of the Minneapolis Sound. Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.
