Join facilitator Dave Curry for an evening of fun and education as he shares his incredible talent and knowledge in this 2-hour combined drumming workshop and drum circle. In the first hour, Dave will teach you a number of rhythms that are popular in a drum circle settings as well as how to get optimal sound from a hand drum. You will also learn skills for playing alongside other drummers in a circle.
During the second hour, you'll shift into a "freestyle" mode where you get to try out your new skills in a less structured drum circle that allows you to explore the possibilities of expressing yourself while cooperating with others to create a groove we'll enjoy together.
All skill levels welcome; no experience required; open to adults and mature teens. Bring your own drum if you have one, or you can borrow a drum provided by Dave.
