Come enjoy Drum Power’s 11th Annual Africa Night. This citywide recital features students from 3rd to 12th grade who have developed musical and life skills including discipline, community and leadership – our Pillars of Power. The program, directed by Yorel Lashley and Thomas Ross, will feature students from Madison Metropolitan Schools including Lowell and Leopold Elementary Schools and O’Keeffe Middle School. Youth performers and master drummers will demonstrate the cultural depth, musical power, and intricacy of the Djembe, Sabar and Samba traditions for all to enjoy. The performance will also feature professional and community guest artists from the Limanya Drum & Dance Ensemble.

Location: Madison Youth Arts Center, Starlight Theater
Suggested donation: $10 for adults and $5 for children, to raise funds to support scholarships to the Drum & Dance Camp this summer (July 17-29). Africa Night is free for families of performers.
