You don't have to be a rapper to freestyle; you just have to be willing to commit.
This high-energy workshop uses freestyle hip-hop as a tool for becoming a faster, bolder, and more playful improv comedian. Through games, rhythm, collaborative exercises, and improvised rap scenes, students will strengthen the same skills that great improvisers, stand-ups, and comedic performers rely on: commitment, listening, pattern recognition, confidence, and discovering the funny before the inner critic gets in the way.
Whether you perform improv, stand-up, sketch, clown, musical comedy, or simply want to become more fearless on stage, this workshop will give you practical tools for thinking faster, making stronger choices, and having more fun.
Prerequisites: No musical experience is necessary. Some stage experience recommended.

- Freestyle rap fundamentals

- Thinking faster on stage

The Solo Comedy Lab: Build a Solo Comedy Show on the Fly
Great solo comedy doesn't always begin with a script; it begins with a point of view.
Whether you perform stand-up, improv, clown, character work, storytelling, or alternative comedy, this workshop teaches you how to generate funny, original material in real time.
Using Jeff Quintana's S.P.E.C.S. framework (Specifics, Physicality, Emotion, Context, and Status), students will build comedy from a single idea, creating memorable characters, heightened versions of themselves, improvised stand-up, audience interaction, and unique theatrical moments that feel spontaneous, personal, and hilarious.
Through structured improvisation and creative performance exercises, you'll discover a repeatable process for creating comedy without relying on a finished script. Whether you're developing a solo show, exploring a new character, sharpening your comedic voice, or looking for a fresh creative process, you'll leave with practical tools you can use immediately.
This workshop will focus on:
- Creating comedy from nothing
- Building memorable characters
