A cross-sector roundtable for youth connection and empowerment via sports and community.
About this Event

Find out what our youth really wants - not just entertainment, but genuine connection.

Earlier this summer, a group of Gen Z dragon boat rookies, together with employees from a beverage brand in Hong Kong, joined a dragon boat sports community and underwent a special two-month intensive training program! This cross-generational dragon boat team was formed through a collaboration between Swire Coca-Cola HK and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, with members including DSE candidates awaiting their results, university students, and volunteers from the brand. How does this newly formed sports community connect young people? How does it differ from other dragon boat training? And what shared value does it create for all stakeholders? On Sep 24, four cross-sector key representatives of the project will join the ISV Lab Mid-Autumn gathering to share their stories.

ISV Lab is committed to advancing youth empowerment and social innovation. We are honoured to bring together cross-sector representatives who participated in and shaped this initiative: Mr. Daniel So (Manager, Sustainability Communications & Community Engagement at Swire Coca-cola HK), Ms. Lily Tse (Supervisor, Youth S.P.O.T.s, Community Team Sports Development at HKFYG), Ms. Erica Chan (Project Manager at D.E.C.T Production) and Mr. Victor Lau (Founder of Hywind Watersport) to share their frontline experiences and insights on creating social impact.

The panel and live Q&A will be moderated by Ms. Maisy Ho of One Beautiful Thing. Join us on Sep 24 as we explore the way forward together — paddling in sync and creating a win-win future with Hong Kong's youth.

Lily Tse Siu-lee
Supervisor, Youth S.P.O.T.s, Community Team Sports Development
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG)

Lily Tse is a Registered Social Worker who believes sport can change the direction of a young person’s life.

She began her career in journalism and communications, where she learned to find stories and tell them well. When she moved into the social service sector, that instinct stayed with her — only the protagonists changed. They became the secondary student called “captain” for the first time on a court, and the school leaver waiting for results with no idea what comes next. Over 14 years, Lily has worked across youth centres, community sports and service innovation, and now serves as Supervisor, Youth S.P.O.T.s and Community Team Sports Development at The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG).

Her work looks like running programmes, but is really about designing opportunities: creating space for young people of every background to step onto the field, and using sport as a way for them to build teams, test themselves and learn to handle setbacks. She starts project design with the question that what will these young people take away rather than how many will attend, which is why evaluation and cross-sector partnership matter so much to her.

Victor Lau
Founder, Hywind Watersport

A former member of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Team, he won one silver and two bronze medals in the youth division across two World Dragon Boat Championships. After retiring from competitive racing, he co-founded Hywind Watersport Limited with his university dragon boat teammates, with the mission of promoting the sport of dragon boating. During the pandemic, They pioneered parent-child dragon boat classes, which were very well received. To date, these programmes have served more than 60,000 participant-visits.

He is also actively involved in community service. In 2023, he received funding from the SIE Fund to launch the “Dragon Windbreaker” programme. The initiative provided dragon boat experiences to more than 120 marginalised young people and trained 36 of them to become parent-child dragon boat coaches. These newly trained coaches then joined the parent-child dragon boat classes, creating meaningful social value through sport.
