Do you love opossums? Not sure why other people love them? Come to this informational program presented to you by Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue and learn about these adorable misunderstood creatures. Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit, licensed wildlife rehabilitators serving Northeast CT. https://ferncroftwildlife.comDuring the “Backyard Wildlife - All About Opossums” program, you’ll get an overview of wildlife rehabilitation and the role of rehabbers. We will focus on opossums and rescue efforts with them. Additionally, we discuss various topics such as supporting wildlife during winter.
Our ambassador opossums will attend. (Usually two) The ambassadors wear a harness and leash, and they are very gentle. Guests are encouraged to pet their soft fur and to take photos.
This program is for adults 21 years and older. Ferncroft has many events focused on children that you can attend. (Check their website for more info.)
Each ticket is $20 and includes one pint of cider, beer or glass of wine or non-alcoholic option. (Samplers available for additional charge.) A portion of these ticket fees will go to Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue.
Doors open at 6pm. Program starts at 6:30 and will run approximately an hour. Taproom will close at 8:30pm.
