Sometimes, you have to make your own bolts or turn holes into threaded holes. Using taps and dies is often the simplest way to do this, but you have to know how.

You will learn hole and rod sizes for various thread sizes. Don't worry that you will have to memorize them--they are on a chart on the Machine Shop wall!
