Dreel Burn: Riverfly Monitoring Initiative training
Advertisement
This is an opportunity for volunteers to receive free training and join our team of community scientists. Dreel Burn volunteers carry out monthly invertebrate monitoring as part of Buglife's Guardians of our Rivers citizen science project.
Volunteers learn to monitor freshwater habitats by taking 3-minute invertebrate kick samples, helping spot early signs of pollution in UK waterways.
Volunteers commit to a 6-hour programme of training - a 3-hour online theory session followed by practical training at a pre-existing monitoring site.
The practical training session will take place on Saturday 23rd August 10am to 1pm in Dreelside Woods.
If you would like to be involved in our Dreel Burn Riverfly community science volunteer group, please get in touch for more information on how to sign up. Email [email protected]
