What happens when old systems crash, when the world as we know it is no longer sustainable?Judaism’s history is one of crashes and reinventions: Reinventions that draw on ancient tradition and wisdom for the purpose of radical transformation. And right now, Judaism is experiencing a once-in-a-millennium transformation.
Join us for a one-day retreat to learn about – and participate in - this process of radical change. Retreat is facilitated by Lisa Heineman.
This retreat is for you if you’re Jewish, Jew-ish, Jew-Curious, or Just Plain Human. No prior knowledge of Judaism is necessary.
Bring: Something to write or drawn on. Vegan soup lunch will be available. We invite a free will donation to cover costs.
Lisa Heineman is co-director of Jewish Studies at The University of Iowa and Adult Education Chair at Agudas Achim Synagogue. She is completing her Certificate with The UnYeshiva, whose core idea is that the Jewish tradition has always been to mess with the tradition. As facilitator of Dreaming in Jewish, she represents herself, not any of the institutions with which she’s affiliated.
