DreamDox is Indiana's premier gathering for documentary filmmakers—a place to dream big, build meaningful connections, and take the next step toward bringing powerful stories to life.
Presented by Hoodox in partnership with Heartland Film's Indy Shorts International Film Festival, this half-day conference brings together filmmakers from across Indiana for an inspiring day of conversation, professional development, and community. Attendees will hear from an incredible lineup of industry speakers, connect with fellow storytellers, and leave with practical tools and fresh momentum for the projects that matter most to them.
Following the conference, attendees are invited to continue the conversation at a DreamDox happy hour at Living Room Theaters before joining filmmakers from around the world at Backlot Bash—one of the signature events of Indy Shorts festival week.
The inaugural DreamDox welcomed more than 60 filmmakers, many of whom have since gone on to pitch projects at PitchDox, secure support for their films, and find new pathways to bringing their stories to the screen. Whether you're just beginning to explore an idea or actively developing your next documentary, DreamDox is designed to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and community.
