Join us for an unforgettable afternoon as acclaimed Maryland-based soprano Rachel Sitomer presents Motherhood (Instruction Not Included)—a deeply moving recital exploring the joys, sacrifices, resilience, and complexities of motherhood through powerful vocal music. Audiences can expect an intimate performance featuring compelling storytelling, heartfelt artistry, and music that speaks to the universal human experience.
The recital will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in historic Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
Parking & Transportation
Street parking is free on Sundays throughout much of the surrounding Georgetown neighborhood, though spaces can fill quickly. If you are attending with a larger group, we recommend using Uber or Lyft for added convenience. The nearest Metro station is Foggy Bottom–GWU (Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines), approximately a 15–20 minute walk from the church.
Most importantly, every ticket purchased directly supports What's New at BLEU, BLEU Opera Company's answer to the American Opera Initiative. Through this exciting commissioning program, BLEU has commissioned three women composers from the DMV to create original 30-minute operettas, providing a platform for bold new voices in opera. Proceeds from this recital will help fund the production of these new works and continue BLEU's commitment to developing the next generation of American opera.
