About this Event

DC Cake Picnic Overview

Join us for a community Cake Picnic on August 30, 2026, at Hains Point Picnic Area C, East Potomac Park, Washington, DC, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

This event is a celebration of homemade cakes, creativity, and community. Guests are invited to taste a variety of cakes, connect with others, and participate in a friendly Popular Vote.

Event Flow

Cake Setup (Bakers Only):
Cake participants should arrive between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to set up their cakes before guests arrive.

Guest Arrival & Tasting:
If you plan on just attending please arrive at 5:00 PM. Cakes will be displayed and available for viewing and tasting. Wrist bands will be handed to you upon checkin for cake picking. each group will have an alloted time to walk through and select cakes they'd like a slice from. Cake slices will be packaged and available to eat prior to voting.

Voting:
Everyone will vote for their favorite cake using a ballot system. Each cake will be assigned a number, and the ballot will list cake numbers for easy selection.

Voting will take place at approximately 7:30 PM.

Event Closing:
Winners will be announced at the end of the event, and the picnic will conclude by 8:00 PM, followed by cleanup.

Popular Vote Award

The cake with the most votes will receive the Popular Vote Award, which includes:

• A commemorative trophy (mailed)
• A custom certificate (mailed)
• A Nothing Bundt Cakes gift card (option to receive at event/ mailed with everything else)

Registration Requirement

If you plan to bring a cake, you must:

1. RSVP through Eventbrite
2. Complete the Cake Registration Form
