Join local artist Michael Sharp for Drawing for Beginners. Michael will start by teaching the basic fundamentals in composition, value and form. He will also teach students how to create the illusion of depth, perspective, and texture in their work. Students will begin drawing from live objects, utilizing these foundational principles and techniques to develop skills for interpreting and translating what they see onto paper.
*All students to bring 2 -3 personal objects to draw from (ideally objects that strongly interest you or hold significant meaning for you). Working from live objects is fundamental in teaching students how the eyes naturally interpret form and depth, etc.
Michael Sharp has a BFA in drawing and painting. He worked as a drawing professor's assistant for two semesters while earning his BFA. After college he worked as a substitute teacher for middle school and high school, which included art classes along with other academic subjects. After moving to Los Angeles, he also taught some private adult art classes.
