Draw & Paint Trees Outdoors_All Skill Levels

Artist Gretchen Acharya will lead you through studying and capturing the structure of trees on paper or canvas, then adding folliage to complete your artwork. The class will be held in south Longmont's lovely and acccessible Willow Farm Park. The park offers an abundance willow and other trees that grow along the creek and provide options as subjects for your painting.

Class will begin at the park gazebo with a lecture and demonstration. You will then select a tree as your subject and begin creating your own artwork. Gretchen will provide hands-on guidance for all class participants, stopping by where you work to answer questions and offer encouragement and suggestions.

Bring your own art supplies. You may contact [email protected] or call 303-748-9132 to request a recommended list of supplies for your selected medium. Watercolor, pastels, acrylics, or pencil/colored pencils are recommended.

You will leave with a painting or drawing either completed or well-on-the way to completion, and with an understanding of how to approach trees as the subject in art.

Restroom facilities are nearby. Please bring your own drinking water and snacks, if desired.
