These meetups are designed to foster community and creativity in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Emphasizing the importance of parallel working, or "body doubling," individuals can practice or create alongside one another, sharing uplifting energy and mutual inspiration that naturally arises in a collaborative setting.
Parallel working is especially beneficial for folx with ADHD, and can help mitigate feelings of distraction and procrastination. This supportive environment fosters a sense of accountability and structure, making it easier to stay on task and complete projects. A shared workspace can also reduce feelings of isolation and boost overall productivity and well-being.
(Remember this is a no-judgment zone; please refrain from criticizing anyone's work.)
Unless in an outdoor or art-specific space, don't forget to consider the mess factor of your particular supplies (more splattery paints might need to stay at home depending on location, etc). Please bring a mat or notepad to bear down on / container for your materials.
