About this Event
K4SD courses are street-smart, context-based knife skills for self-defense and martial combat applications. These safe, informal, and entertaining classes are rooted in environmental awareness, practical scenarios, and nervous system regulation.
Level: Course 2 is designed for intermediate students but is accessible to beginners and advanced users alike.
Learning Objectives:
- Know how and when to apply the Context > Mindset > Technique (CMT) model.
- Understand the three levels of progressive violence and how these levels uniquely apply to blade use.
- Attain familiarity with standard grip applications against assailants.
- Practice optimal environmental awareness, stance, and footwork in progressively heightened encounters.
- Advance new skills in the context of safe training drills and friendly sparring.
Safety & Requirements
- Recommend comfortable training clothes; eye protection is advised for sparring.
- Training knives provided; students may bring trainer blades if approved by the instructor.
Robert Lee has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a 9th-degreeth black/Guro rank in Kali. He has instructed civilians and professionals alike in bladed self-defense for over a decade. His eclectic, blade-focused system (Drala Kali) is the culmination of nearly twenty years of focused training in multiple blade fighting systems, close protection work, and cross-disciplined sparring.
