Learn to scale historic 19th-century patterns and sew your own Victorian tie-on collar at the Mood Fabrics Showroom in Chicago!
About this Event

Step back in time and explore historical pattern drafting with costumer and scholar Marissa Croft! In this four-hour hands-on workshop, attendees will learn how to use apportioning rulers to scale authentic 19th-century sewing patterns to fit their own measurements using the Chicago-invented Diamond Garment Cutter System. You will draft your own pattern, cut your fabric, and sew a complete Victorian-style tie-on collar on our showroom sewing machines to take home! Familiarity with using a sewing machine is helpful, but not required to participate.
