Experience the joy of tea at the Garden Tea Festival, hosted by the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden on September 21st and 22nd! This engaging event invites everyone—tea lovers and curious visitors alike—to explore the rich traditions and flavors of tea. Set in a beautiful Chinese garden, the festival offers a range of fun activities, including hands-on workshops, interactive tea ceremonies, and tastings. With the theme "Tea for All," there’s something for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re a tea enthusiast or new to the world of tea. Join us for a weekend of learning and celebration!

Ticket Information:

• General Admission: $10
• Festival Special: $12.50 (includes admission + special tea cup)
• Formal Japanese Tea Ceremony: $10 per person (Sept 22nd - limited availability)

Attendees are encouraged to bring your own small tea cup (under 40ml) for tastings.

Activities:

• Taste teas from local small businesses and explore a variety of tea-related products
• Participate in interactive tea ceremonies and workshops
• Savor tea snacks and light food, including Chinese tea treats and Japanese matcha specialties
• Experience an agarwood incense ceremony
• Watch Chinese calligraphy demonstrations and engage with the artist
• Delight in musical performances featuring Guzheng and other Asian instruments
• Try on Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) with the Hanfu Association
• Capture moments at our tea-themed photo booth with Hanfu attire
• Meet itinerant tea sellers in Song dynasty costumes, offering complimentary tea throughout the garden.

The Garden Tea Festival will take place at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver’s Chinatown, located on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
