Celebrate the value and importance of reading as we highlight child friendly books and activities at the end of Read Across America Week.
• Visit local organization tables including the Georgia Farm Bureau, Keep Newton Beautiful, Newton Trails, and the Newton County Library System for books, crafts, and reading fun
• Enjoy story time at the cement stage in Square Park with public safety and City of Covington team members!
• Stop by the Discover Covington table for a bag to carry your book while supplies last
• Visit with Dr. Seuss characters
• Children can play a round of Dr. Seuss Bingo while supplies last/time permits
• Visit the businesses around downtown area for book inspired treats!
*WEATHER PERMITTING (Books and rain are not a good mix!). Books and supplies are limited and are first come, first served. Children must be present to get a book.
*Half Square Closure: The east and west sides of inside the Square (Church Street and Monticello Street) will be closed to vehicular traffic. Traffic can still move along Washington Street and Clark Street.
