The Dr. Howard Miller Lecture Series at the General Lew Wallace Study and Museum is back for 2026 with a great talk in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Join us for an evening lecture with author and historian Ryan L. Cole. His writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Civil War Journal, and the IndyStar, among others. Cole will discuss his new book, "The Last Adieu: Lafayette’s Triumphant Return, the Echoes of the Revolution, and the Gratitude of the Republic."In 1824, Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette toured the nation he helped win independence nearly fifty years earlier. The thirteen colonies he once knew had grown into twenty-four states stretching from the Atlantic to the Mississippi. His triumphant journey through every state became the grandest celebration ever staged by the young republic, honoring one of the last living generals of the American Revolutionary Army.
