The recital will be preceded by an introduction to the pipe organ at 7 pm.A reception sponsored by the Central Iowa Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will follow.
Gregory Peterson is an internationally acclaimed recitalist, having performed in important venues in the United States and Europe. Several of his performances and recordings have been broadcast over the years on Pipe Dreams from American Public Media. Dr. Peterson, Professor of Music and College Organist Emeritus at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, is a respected leader in the field of church music, garnered over a career now spanning more than forty years. He has served numerous churches and colleges including the historic Old South Church (Boston, MA), Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, MN), Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, WA), and most recently at Normandale Lutheran Church in Edina, MN.
The event is free and open to the public.
