We are pleased to invite you to this year's Medicine as a Science second lecture. Our guest will be Dr. med. Denis L. Kaech from Switzerland. Dr. Kaech is a specialist in neurosurgery, with a particular focus on the spine and spinal cord. He currently works at the private clinic Medizinisches Center Maienfeld in Switzerland. His research is centered on diagnostic neuroimaging, including methods such as PET, CT, and MRI.Dr. Kaech graduated from medical school in Switzerland and has also lived in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. He developed a keen interest in spine surgery and neurodiagnostic imaging. Through his clinical work, he has held prestigious positions such as President of the Swiss Society of Spine Surgery, Congress President of ArgoSpine, and Organizer and President of the GIEDA Inter-Rachis Symposium. He is also a board member of both GIEDA and Argospine, and previously served as associate chief editor of ArgoSpine News & Journal (now a supplement of EJOST published by Springer until 2016). In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he has taught at the European Courses in Neuroradiology focused on the spine in cities including Prague, Bologna, Luxembourg, Trondheim, and Basel.
Dr. Kaech will present on the topic "Cervical Spine: Anatomy, Clinical Signs, and Imaging for Neurosurgical Treatment." The lecture will take place in person on Monday, November 11th, in the Syllaba Lecture Hall at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, starting at 5:00 PM. The presentation will be conducted in English, and a video recording will also be made. This lecture is funded by the Department of Foreign and External Relations of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine.
