Dr. David Brani has resided and worked in Cobb County since 1983. His academic achievements include a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Masters and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Upon graduation from Florida in 1983, he was employed as an Aircraft Engineer for Lockheed Georgia. He attended Georgia Tech and then taught for 12 years in the Mechanical Engineering Technology department at Southern Polytechnic State University.
While teaching, he received an Outstanding Faculty Award and Cobb County Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Brani was also awarded a 1 year Fulbright Scholarship as a guest researcher/lecturer at the University of Botswana in Gabarone, Botswana.
In 1999, Dr. Brani started his forensic career on a part time basis with Applied Technical Services. He left teaching for full time employment with ATS in 2004. In 2018, Dr. Brani formed his own company and continues to provide expert witness services.
Some local career investigation highlights include the Atlanta Botanical Bridge collapse in 2008, the Parking Garage collapse at Georgia Tech in 2009, and the death of a child at the Sundial restaurant in 2017.
Dr. Brani is married to Janet Brani for over 40 years and they have two adult children Erin and Will Brani. David and Janet are Christian believers and active members of Sojourn Church in Marietta.
