Kick-off the holiday season with Downtown Chula Vista’s Tree Lighting & Holiday Market! This family-friendly event features a range of festive activities to get you into the holiday spirit.
The Downtown Chula Vista Farmers’ Market will be curating a special Holiday Market on Park Way that highlights artisan food vendors and crafters offering handmade holiday treats and gifts. Be sure to start shopping early before the official tree lighting that will take place at 5:45pm in Memorial Park.
After shopping the Market, visit the Downtown Chula Vista Info Booth at Memorial Park (Third Avenue & W. Madrona Street) to grab an “I Was Nice!” stocking and a map of participating businesses with holiday specials for you to enjoy.
Don your best (or worst!) holiday attire and follow the map to find exclusive discounts, special offers, and goodies. Make sure you stop by the “Dear Santa, I Can Explain…” photo op at F Street & Third Avenue to commemorate the evening with a keepsake photo in your holiday best.
From 3:00pm to 6:00pm attendees can enjoy lively musical performances at Memorial Park and Davidson & Third Avenue. For an extra dose of holiday cheer, make sure to get a picture with Santa on Park Way at the entrance of the Holiday Market.
Be sure to set your alarms for 5:45pm and make your way to Memorial Park to count down to the official tree lighting!

Following the tree lighting ceremony on December 1st, the City of Chula Vista will be hosting the 60th Annual Starlight Parade & Festival on December 14th along Third Avenue! Keep the seasonal festivities going in South Bay’s liveliest neighborhood this winter by donning your favorite themed sweater, supporting local businesses, and watching beloved local groups take to the streets in their holiday floats.
