Step back into Buda’s past on this guided evening exploring the stories, architecture, and memories that shaped Downtown.Join us for the Historic Downtown Walking Tour on Thursday, May 28 — a free, guided experience through some of Main Street’s most iconic buildings, followed by an intimate community panel featuring longtime Buda residents.
The walking tour runs 5:30–6:30pm and begins at the Buda Welcome Center. We’ll visit four buildings, with brief, guided stops at each location. Along the way, we’ll explore original architecture, former uses, and the evolving history behind each space. Guests will also have a few minutes inside each building to take it in.
Tour stops include:
• 320 Main Street (Carrington House)
• 310 Main Street (Posie)
• 212 Main Street (Old Town Buda Antique Mall)
• 200 Main Street (Meridian)
Following the walk, the group will head to Inspired Minds Art Center for a short break and a panel discussion from 7:00–8:00pm. Moderated by Matt Creel, the conversation will feature longtime Buda residents John McCormick, Sandra Grizzle, and Jim Hollis sharing firsthand stories of life in Buda 50–60 years ago — the moments and memories you won’t find in a history book. Refreshments will be provided.
Check-in begins at the Welcome Center at 5:30pm. Space is limited, so RSVP is recommended to reserve your spot.
