The Light the Night Holiday Parade – Twice Around returns to Historic Downtown Albany on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
New this year: it’s on a Saturday, so the kids don’t have school in the morning! This festive community tradition features holiday lights, decorated floats, local schools, businesses, community groups, and Santa riding on Albany’s Antique Fire Truck.
Important Note: The 2025 Community Tree Lighting Ceremony is a separate event held on Saturday, November 29.
Parade Route:
The parade begins at Broadalbin Street and First Avenue, heads west on First to the Post Office, turns left on Washington to Second Avenue, turns left on Second to Broadalbin, and turns left again to return to First Avenue. The parade makes two loops and ends where it began.
With a six-block route, there is plenty of front-row seating. Second Avenue and Broadalbin tend to be more crowded, while First Avenue and Washington are usually less crowded.
