Doula Clinic: Lactation & Maternal Health
About this Event
Join us for an interactive Doula Clinic bringing together mothers, expecting mothers, community members, birthworkers, and professionals for an afternoon of learning, resources, and connection. Whether you're preparing for motherhood, supporting someone you love, expanding your knowledge, or working with families, there is something here for you.
This clinic will feature two expert-led sessions focused on essential areas of perinatal care:
A Nourishing Start: Breastfeeding Support in the Early Days
Presented by Kavisa Wood, this interactive session will provide practical education and tools for supporting families with breastfeeding during the critical first week postpartum.
Maternal Mental Health Solutions: Together
Presented by Jessica Walker, Co-Founder of Be Mom Aware, this session will explore recognizing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), supportive communication, referrals and resources, and the importance of birthworker wellness.
Throughout the afternoon, participants will have opportunities to connect with others, share experiences and resources, ask questions, and build meaningful connections within the maternal wellness and birth community.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all registered attendees.
Come ready to learn, connect, and leave with practical tools and resources to support yourself, your loved ones, and your community throughout the perinatal journey.
