Doug Walker Quintet

An evening of original modern jazz and debuting several new compositions, featuring David Borgo, tenor saxophone; Victor Baker, guitar; Tobin Chodos, piano; Doug Walker, bass; Kevin Higuchi, drums.

Versatile bassist Doug Walker has been on the San Diego scene since 2001, backing up many of the city’s renowned artists across the spectrum of musical genres. His particular passion for modern jazz has afforded him performances with many local legends, and has inspired numerous original compositions and arrangements. His debut album Concurrent Lines, featuring 8 originals, was a nominee for 2025 SDMA’s Best Jazz Album. Walker also appears as a sideman on recent albums Relational and Uplift by saxophonist David Borgo, as well as Victor Baker’s As The Crow Flies, which is currently nominated for the 2026 SDMA’s Best Jazz Album.
