Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 7 PMSTRIPPED offers an intimate, informal look at choreographer and dancer Doug Varone’s creative process. The Company, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026, will perform excerpts and full dances from its repertory, highlighted by the first preview of Varone’s latest dance set to Radiohead’s iconic 2007 album, In Rainbows.
Dressed in rehearsal clothes and with simple lighting, the company shares the intricacies of how dances are built and performed through demonstration and conversation. Varone’s articulate, insightful dissection of his work demystifies the art form and provides a framework for experiencing the beauty and humanity of contemporary dance.
Followed by a post-performance reception with the artists in collaboration with Dancers Responding to AIDS, producers of the annual Hudson Valley Dance Festival.
