Doug & Chris have co-hosted the longest running, weekly bluegrass jam session in Houston and have been performing as a duo for decades. They play many recurring, annual concerts for corporate conventions, church events, outdoor shows, etc. Doug Burtchael has been playing guitar since he was a young teenager and is one of the hottest guitar players in Texas. He enjoys playing jazz, rock, country, and bluegrass. Chris Hirsch plays the five-string banjo and has been performing since 1982. He has won the Texas State Banjo Championship three times as well as many other banjo contests. Leader of the Lonestar Bluegrass Band for 43 years, Chris also plays mandolin, guitar and some fiddle. He loves entertaining and joking with the audience!More information on the Doug & Chris concert will be provided as we get closer to the concert date. Remember, the concert is FREE. An informal reception follows the performance.
