Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
A parody of classic monster movies, the film centres on good-natured yet eccentric inventor Wallace and his intelligent but mute dog, Gromit, in their latest venture as pest control agents. They come to the rescue of their town, which is plagued by rabbits, before the annual Giant Vegetable competition. However, the duo soon find themselves battling a giant rabbit which is consuming the town's crops.
This is an animated film that uses claymation. is one of many forms of stop-motion animation.
Each animated piece, either character or background, is "deformable"—made of a malleable substance, usually plasticine clay. Each object or character is sculpted from clay or other such similarly pliable material as plasticine, usually around a wire skeleton, called an armature, and then arranged on the set, where it is photographed once before being slightly moved by hand to prepare it for the next shot, and so on until the animator has achieved the desired amount of film. Upon playback, the viewer perceives the series of slightly changing, rapidly succeeding images as motion.
A consistent shooting environment is needed to maintain the illusion of continuity: objects must be consistently placed and lit.
Starring - Ralph Fiennes (Victor Quartermaine), Helena Bonham Carter (Lady Campanula Tottington) and Peter Sallis (Wallace and Hutch)
Directed by - Nick Park and Steve Box
