Come and join us at the wonderful Maltings Taphouse for another evening of American roots music, Jump Blues, Calypso, Swing, Country Blues & Ragtime.
VINCE LEE & SOPHIE LORD
Vince Lee has been a mainstay on the South West's live music scene for over 35 years. An authentic, virtuoso blues musician. In 2022 Vince launched a brand new duo with his partner and double bass player Sophie Lord who had returned to Plymouth after 10 years working as a bass player in London. Together they have played many prestigious blues festivals and gained a huge following on social media platforms for their blues music videos which have reached millions of people around the world. Vince & Sophie visited the United States in Spring 2023 performing at the world famous Topanga Blues Festival in California and Gator By The Bay Festival in San Diego. They will be returning next year after establishing themselves on the Southern California music scene.
TWO-BIT TROUBADOURS
Willy and Lisa Briggs from The Hot House Combo and The Hot House Four, formed their duo in 2024. From the deep south-west of England, they are preserving old time American roots music. Genres such as Ragtime Blues, Early Country and American Folk music are heavily featured as well as original material. With close harmonies, two guitars, washboard and harmonica. Although they are just starting out on their duo journey, they have already been booked for the Rockin' Race, Spain and a 2 week tour booked in Japan in May 2026. Exciting times ahead!
